Scholarships

AGS Scholarship
Alpha Gamma Sigma at Glendale Community College offers a variety of scholarships. The scholarship funds are raised during the semester. Towards the end of the semester, the Cabinet decides who the scholarships will go to based on how much those people contributed to our community and AGS. All the categories of scholarships and other details come with the application.

Humanitarian Award Scholarship

The Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) Humanitarian Award is given annually to a GCC student who has shown evidence of outstanding public service during the preceding 36 month period. The award is open to any GCC student meeting the criteria below. Students need not be an AGS member to apply.

The Award is open to the entire student body with the following requirements:
1) GPA of 3.0 or above
2) Minimum of thirty (30) college units completed, with at least twelve (12) of those units completed at GCC.
3) Completion of the Award application.
4) A commitment to social issues.
5) Community service performed within the past year that is not related to a course, program, or paid work.
6) Involvement in campus activities such as student government, campus clubs, music, theatre, athletics, etc.
7) Must not have any disciplinary action pending or any probation on their academic record.
