Glendale College has a rich tradition for excellence in Track and Field. Besides the numerous championships won by GCC teams, the program has consistently developed top community college runners, jumpers and throwers. Countless men and women athletes have used the program to enhance their skills and to obtain opportunities at the four-year level. The Track and Field program features one of the top coaches in the nation  -  Ed Lopez. His experience and knowledge provides GCC Track and Field athletes with the very best opportunities for development and success. Cross Country - Eddie Lopez will lead yet another outstanding group of runners in search of another crown. The men's program has won 14 out of the past 16 WSC Cross Country Championships (seven in a row) and won State Championships in 1995 and 1998. The women's Cross Country teams won WSC Championships in 1997, 1998 and 2000.
