On April 1, the four members of the GCC Board of Trustees selected Anita Quinonez Gabrielian to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Mary Hamilton. The appointment will last until next April when trustee elections will be held.

Ms Quinonez Gabrielian is a native of Nicaragua who was raised  in both the U.S. and Nicaragua. She attended GCC in 1994 to prepare for her citizenship exam. She later attended Cal Poly Pomona, where she earned an MBA in 2000.

She has worked for SBC (formerly Pacific Bell) for over twenty years and is now Vice President of External Affairs. A former member of the Glendale College Foundation Board, she lives in the Verdugo Woodlands section of Glendale and has three children.
