Classified Council Wants You!

It is that time again, when nominations for the new 2007-2009 Classified Council Board need to be submitted. Classified Council is looking for officer nominations for the new term that starts on July 1. The one requirement for the job is enthusiasm. Board positions are open to all full-time classified staff.  If you feel that you could make a difference and can be a team player, then please consider putting your own name forward. Alternatively, if you know someone who you think would be a great asset to the Classified Council Board, please nominate that person. Once nominations have been received, and the nominees have been validated, elections will be held.

Does your pay stub mystify you? Ron Nakasone, our College Controller, will lecture on this subject on Thursday, March 22 from 12 to 1 pm in AD252. The presentation, "Interpreting Your Pay Stub," is co-sponsored by Staff Development, so CPGU and Flex will be offered. I strongly encourage all new employees and confused old ones to attend.

March is our See’s Candies Spring Fundraiser month. If you would like to place an order for Easter treats, then please contact Vivian Darakjian at x5574. There will also be opportunities on campus to purchase the chocolates directly. Watch your email for announcements.

During the spring break week in April, a Classified Retreat will be held at the Steven Breuer Conference Center in Malibu.  Delegate application forms have been placed in mailboxes, and I encourage everyone to apply.  This two-day retreat is the first in many years, and the program promises to be informative and exciting.
