Wish you had just the right foreign phrase to show your true level of sophistication?

Want to order from the menu with that certain flair (or at least without making a fool of yourself stumbling over the pronunciation)?  Maybe just want to feel confident that you could ask directions to the restroom when you are in another country on vacation?

Then a non-credit conversational language class may be just the thing.  But wait: Haven’t non-transfer level classes been eliminated due to our budget woes?  No!  Not in this case.

Our conversational language classes, due to their popularity, still survive, in another incarnation, through our Community Services Education program.

Seven language classes are offered on Saturday mornings on the Glendale College main campus from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in 6-week sessions, four times a year, starting in September, January, March, and June.  The languages are: Armenian, Chinese, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, and Spanish.

The instructors are from among our regular full-time and adjunct faculty.

These classes emphasize culture and conversation, providing instruction in correct pronunciation, practical vocabulary, and useful phrases.  The atmosphere is fun and relaxed.  Teaching methods include class exercises, group activities and other participative methods.
