After many months of increasing
levels of junk e-mails, spam, and time-wasting "best deals" and "phishing"
(in which phony e-mails are sent to lure you into giving your personal
information so someone can commit identity theft), our GCC Information
Technology folks have finally gotten the budget item they needed to
purchase a serious anti-spam program.
Thanks to Bob Owen, Simon Mirzayan, Dave Mathews and with the fiscal
blessing of Larry Serot, the district purchased a software program that
does a fantastic job of eliminating the junk every day. Your e-mail
once again can be 95 percent real work, and only a few pieces of
cleverly disguised junk will come through.
If you have not yet set up your "clean-up program," just e-mail
helpdesk@glendale.edu and ask
how to get started. You will benefit immensely from this new software,
and the increase in your productivity will be worth the few minutes it
takes to sign on and activate the program.
