This is the time to look back
and evaluate the 2007-2008 academic year. Here are the major
points:
-
Successful
Classified Institute Day (highest attendance ever)
-
Proposition
92 fundraising (although it did not pass, personal donations and
various CSEA fundraising events made it special).
-
CSEA
election. The new Executive Board was elected for the two-year
term.
-
Accreditation workshop (active participation of all classified
employees in the process).
-
Holiday
Party (over $1,500 for the CCC
Initiative).
-
Classified
Retreat (the best yet).
On May 19,
we will hold our traditional CSEA Classified Employees Week
barbeque, sponsored by Dr. Audre Levy.
Delegates
for the 82nd
CSEA Annual Conference are: Margaret Nadir, Paul Buehler and
Armenuhi Andzhu. All three delegates are new delegates who have
never attended CSEA conferences before. I am really proud of this
new trend we started about three years ago, sending first-time
delegates to the CSEA Conference. Every CSEA member should
experience this unforgettable democratic forum at least once.
For those
of you who are working on attaining your educational goals, please
apply for the CSEA scholarship. The deadline is July 1, and awards
will be presented at the Classified Institute Day.
In Unity,
Saodat Aziskhanova
