Classified Council welcomes you
to the new academic year!
How time flies so
quickly! And quickly you must join Classified Council! And why? Well,
why not? For an annual membership fee of $5, you will receive more than
you expect!
Priceless moments
shared throughout the year include monthly get-togethers to enjoy
innovative lecture presentations, fundraisers, our annual holiday party,
student scholarship sponsorship, classified employee week celebration,
end-of-the-year picnic, and also you get a lottery scratcher on your
birthday!
Classified
Council’s goal is to sprinkle joy onto your life at GCC.
The current board
members assigned to carry out this mission are:
Merrilee Ahaus (vice
president), Pamela Boehret (secretary), Amir Nour (treasurer), and five
members-at-large; Kit Crawford, Wendy Grove, Jessica LoGuercio, Vera
McGillivray, and Jenny McMahon.
If you are interested in becoming a member this year, this is the time
to submit your membership form. Please ask any board member for a

October
The October lecture will ring in
the spirit of Halloween with a special presentation by Dr. Wendy Fonarow
about the history of Halloween and a pumpkin carving contest!
Our first
fundraiser begins in October with the sale of Tupperware items. The 40
percent profit will go towards our student scholarship fund. Last
academic year, Classified Council raised more than $1,250 towards its
student scholarship fund. We look forward to continuing this exciting
opportunity!
November
Please look forward to our
exciting 2004 Winter Holidays fundraiser from See’s Candies: chocolate
favorites wrapped in very cute gift boxes. Each box item is $4. The
chocolate will be delivered in time for the December holidays. The 50
percent profit will go towards Classified Council’s operational funding.
December
We will be hosting our annual
holiday dinner party at Acapulco’s on Pacific Avenue in Glendale.
Please write “Party at Acapulco’s” on December 9th in your calendar.
Classified members receive a price break for this event. Lots of fun and
prizes for this celebration. Our holiday party continues to be
successful thanks to generous sponsors including the Bookstore, Los
Robles, and members of the campus community like you!&
