2004 John Davitt Award

Congratulations to both of our winners!

Each year two outstanding classified employees are awarded the John Davitt Award for Outstanding Service. The award is presented to one Classified employee and one Management/Confidential employee. The Davitt Award recognizes employees who performed outstanding work that has greatly benefited internal GCC operations or contributed to the success of GCC programs or services

This year’s Classified winner was nominated by nine different individuals and was praised by her nominators for always having a positive attitude and treating both employees and students with the utmost respect and consideration.  As one of her nominators stated, “she is an amazing individual, full of enthusiasm, warmth and dedication to her job. She cares about both students and staff and always goes the extra mile. If I could clone her I would.” This year’s Davitt Award for Outstanding Classified Service goes to Barbara Keegan from ACTC.

This year’s Management/Confidential winner is cited as a consummate professional who is thoughtful, considerate and has great integrity. This dedicated person is always able to provide keen insight as well as the hard facts without spin or bias.  Although usually juggling many projects, he always takes the time to explain the complex data he provides. Respected by his peers, colleagues and subordinates, this year’s Davitt Award for Outstanding Management/Confidential Service goes to Edward Karpp from Research and Planning.
