Trick or
Treat… It’s that time again.
|
Our Annual Holiday party will take place at BJ’s Restaurant and
Brewery in Burbank on
December 13. |
This Halloween, Classified Council will be running a competition
for the best decorated office and the best Halloween costume. This event
is open to all classified, confidential and management staff, on both
the Garfield and main
campus. Dr. Wendy Fonarow, our resident Halloween guru,
has kindly agreed to judge the competition.
Classified
Council and Staff Development will co-sponsor a
lecture on identity theft on November 9
from 12 to 1 p.m. in Kreider Hall. Unbelievably, Glendale is one
of the identity theft capitals of the United States, and this crime is
also one of the fastest growing. Police officers from the
financial crimes department will give an in-depth lecture about what is
being done to combat the crime in Glendale, and what steps you can take
to protect yourself. This
event will be open to everyone on campus.
One of the
Council’s main priorities is to
fundraise for student scholarships. We will be holding a See’s candy
fundraiser, starting in November and running through the beginning of
December. Please consider purchasing a
few boxes from us. Not only are these candies quite delicious, but the
price is most reasonable. Plus, you get to help out a deserving student at the
same time.
Our Annual Holiday
party will take place at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewery in Burbank on
December 13.
This is a new venue for us, but I am told that their Pizookie
desserts are to die for.
So forget that diet and join us for a
fun evening with all your GCC work colleagues. Please watch your email
for further details.
Please don’t forget to
submit your membership dues for the 2006/2007 year. The cost is still
only $7, and to make things easier you can submit your membership
electronically, by visiting our website at
www.glendale.edu/classifiedcouncil.
Happy Halloween!
