High five to our 2008 winners

The Distinguished Faculty Award recognizes excellence in one’s area of expertise, such as teaching, counseling, and work with students. It also considers good college “citizenship,” i.e. contributions to college life outside the classroom, but only as a secondary criterion.
Recognizing excellence in these other contributions is the purpose of the
William Parker Award, which looks at such things as committee participation and leadership, outreach work, grant work, and recognition by faculty, staff, students, and administration. The Exceptional Adjunct Award is given for distinguished contributions to the college in the recipient’s discipline, or for contributions and accomplishments in other professional areas.
