Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I enroll in Noncredit ESL Classes?

Prospective Noncredit ESL Students need to take a placement test to determine their ESL level. Tests are given at both the GCC Assessment Center and the Garfield Campus. For more information, call 818-240-1000 Ext. 5033.

2. Must I take the test if I do not speak English?

All students are required to take the placement test. Please call 818-240-1000 ext. 5669 or 818-240-1000, ext. 5033 to receive information on how to register a non-English speaking student.

3. What hours are classes offered?

Classes are offered from 8am to 9:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. In addition to our regular classes, Friday classes in Conversation and Computer Basics for ESL students are offered. Check with our schedule of classes to find out the time and place of each class.

4. Where is the Noncredit ESL Office located?

5. Do you offer summer session and winter session classes?


Yes. We offer morning, afternoon, and evening classes during theses sessions. Contact either of the numbers above for more information.
