How to Become a CSE Instructor

Download the
Course Proposal packet.
Community Services Education classes are offered to our community as a means of gaining new skills, knowledge, and confidence in areas of interest not served by the credit-courses available at the main GCC campus. We have many, wonderful instructors with a variety of skills and talents. Like them, you have something to share with our community-- perhaps it is a course, workshop, or seminar you've taught before-- or maybe you have an idea for a new class in your field of expertese. While we don't require prior teaching experience or formal training, we do review each proposal thoroughly to ensure that each candidate has the requisite understanding of subject matter and necessary communication skills to make a good CSE instructor.
We publish a catalog of courses four times a year. Take some time to review the last year's offerings to see if your course concept or subject is already offered. We will sometimes offer less-popular courses on a periodic schedule to keep enrollment up. If you don't see your course or workshop in past catalogs, let us know by submitting your idea-- here's how:
Download a Course Proposal Packet, fill it out completely, and submit it to our office along with:
- your resume,
- a copy of any relevant credentials you list in your application,
- two (2) references,
- a detailed outline of the contents of your proposed program, and
- copies of anything you might be selling in class.
You must submit your packet via mail or in person (We will not accept any email or fax copies) at the following address:
