MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING

This certificate is designed for students who are preparing for a position as a medical biller/coder and will work in a physician’s office, a medical clinic, a hospital, or a billing agency.
This certificate does not satisfy the major requirements for the Associate in Science degree.

 
PREREQUISITE COURSES REQUIRED COURSES FOR CERTIFICATE UNITS
CABOT 103 and one of the following:
 a. Eligibility for ENGL 191 or
 b. Eligibility for ESL 141
CABOT 102 English for Business 4
  CABOT 205 Computer Keyboarding/Typing I 3
  CABOT 208 Windows Basics 1
Completion of 12 units with a 2.5 GPA or better and concurrent enrollment in 3 additional units
Enrollment in 7 units including CO ED 102, and employment related to major
CABOT 050* or
CO ED 102*
Internship (CABOT)
