MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING

This certificate is designed for students who are preparing for a position as a medical biller/coder and will work in a physician’s office, a medical clinic, a hospital, or a billing agency.
This certificate does not satisfy the major requirements for the Associate in Science degree.

Completion of 12 units with a 2.5 GPA or better and concurrent enrollment in 3 additional units Enrollment in 7 units including CO ED 102 and concurrent enrollment for a minimum of 5 hours per week	CABOT 050* or CO ED 102*	Internship (CABOT) Occupational Work Experience	1-3 or 1-3
	MOA 181 or MOA 182	Medical Office Terminology Medical Terminology	3 or 5
	MOA 183	Medical Billing and Coding	4
	TOTAL UNITS REQUIRED		18

* Must be in a medical office or medical facility.
