Scholarship Application Instructions
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1. All currently enrolled GCC students with disabilities regardless of race, religious creed, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, marital status, or medical condition are eligible to apply for scholarships.
2. In order to be eligible for scholarships, applicants will have completed at least 12 units of college credit at GCC with a GPA of 2.5.
3. Typically the number of applicants exceeds the number of available scholarships. The Center for Students with Disabilities will make every effort to match qualified applicants with scholarships according to the eligibility criteria.
4. Scholarships are available for both transferring and continuing students. In addition, each scholarship may have different eligibility requirements established by the sponsors.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Applications are available on line at www.glendale.edu/dsps/CSD_Scholarship.htm and in the Center for Students with Disabilities.
2. All applications MUST BE TYPED with the exception of the faculty recommendation.
3. Your application must include a recommendation and signature from a classroom instructor, counselor, or administrator.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Faculty from the Center for Students with Disabilities will require 3 days to complete the recommendation. Plan accordingly. There will be no exceptions.
4. Complete the entire application. Failure to complete the entire form may remove you from consideration for scholarships. After completing the application, click on the 'Review your Application' button and you will be redirected to a confirmation page. Print this page and be sure to have an Instructor, Counselor, or Administrator complete the recommendation section. Sign and date the application, and submit all pages to the Center for Students with Disabilities by 5:00 p.m. on April 30.
5. Submit a copy of this application to the Glendale Community College Scholarship Office in SC202.
6. If you are selected to receive a scholarship/grant, you will be notified by mail or telephone at the end of the Spring semester.
