Getting Started
Interested in pursuing a grant? There are three basic steps to get started:
-
Identify a problem impacting students at
Glendale Community College
or meeting the educational needs of the
community.
Make sure that you have rationale to support these problems or
needs.
Come up with a solution and fill out the
Funding Request Form.
This first step in the planning process will help you identify items
you must include in your proposal such as reasonable objectives that
your proposed program will bring about and the budget required to do
so. Click
here to download the form.
Set up a meeting with the Resource
Development Committee.
The Resource Development Committee will help you find your best
funding match.
There are three potential funding categories –
public (government),
private or
fundraising activity.
The committee will set up a work group to
assist you in your proposal writing.
This can take three modes:
-
Staff grant coordinator/writer, 2-5
member content committee including staff member from Research and
Planning
-
College personnel with RT/EP, staff grant
coordinator/writer to mentor, 2-5 member content committee
including staff member from Research and Planning
-
Consultant, staff grant
coordinator/writer to coordinate, 2-5 member content committee
including staff member from Research and Planning
The Resource & Development Committee will
stay in contact with you throughout the grant process; Cabinet must
give final approval before your proposal is sent.
