Agenda for Guild meeting at Garfield Campus, May 6, noon, and (and another at 5:00)

1. Review and explain negotiations for salary for this year and the next few years.

2. Explain procedure of openers for negotiations

A. Adjunct has offered Pathway to Parity

B. Full timers have not yet decided.

C. What does Pathway to Parity mean, particularly for Continuing Ed (what was called Non-credit)?

  • Explain what is being brought to the table-change from a separate salary schedule (B) for all adjunct, be on the same salary schedule as full timers (Salary schedule A) .
  • View of Pathway to Parity in the short run In long run- ultimate goals Concerns and questions.
  • What it will cover, what it will not cover (for example- desire to change load).
  • Actual work load may significantly increase with SLO’s. No acknowledgment or compensation.
  • Number of hours required to be teaching for same salary in various departments.
  • Others

    Consensus. Possible ways to measure approval or disapproval of Pt Parity of Garfield members.

    Must be accepted at May 20th meeting-all invited.

    Ways to express support or opposition if you cannot attend the meeting

    3. Other business.

  • Review new health insurance policy, explain that early retirement is not for adjunct, anything else requested to be brought up.
