9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance
Posted Date: 8/28/2015

As part of a continuing tradition, The Center for Student Involvement is once again sponsoring our "Pack a Backpack" fundraising event to benefit School on Wheels, a non profit organization which serves homeless children in Los Angeles County. They provide a consistent support system to homeless students at a time of great stress and fear.

School on Wheels offers:

• One-on-one weekly tutoring
• School supplies
• Assistance in entering school
• Help in locating lost records
• Scholarships
• Guidance for parents in educational matters for their children
• A Learning Center located in the heart of Skid Row

Our "Pack a Backpack" event is a way to create a lasting and forward-looking legacy -- annually rekindling the spirit of service, tolerance, and compassion that unified America and the world in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

About 9/11 Day
