Michael Pitts is one of the premiere Media Arts instructors at Glendale Community College. He teaches MA 117, “Music Video Production” as well as MA 101, “Intro to Video Production”.
Professor Pitts received his MFA and Bachelors from USC and has been teaching at the college level for over 37 years. He has taught at a dozen different learning institutions including Univ. of Southern California, LA Mission College, Pierce College, LA Southwest College, LA Valley College, and Long Beach City College.
Michael Pitts has toured as a percussionist with various bands and his experience includes the Miss America tour as well as performing with ManChild IX. As a musician, Professor Pitts brings a specialized viewpoint to his classroom. He has consulted internationally with RCA Record Company and written and directed “Why Am I Here: Musical Play” for the Ivar Theatre.
Professor Pitts produced the independent production “Jazz’n America: Jazz Variety Show” and then went on to direct “Keys To The Future”, a international production for U.S.C that was showcased at the TESOL Annual Conference. His other accomplishments include designing college coursework utilizing new media technology and creating presentations for NAFSA and CATESOL. He currently serves as a full time professor at Pierce College and as an adjunct projessor at Glendale Community College.
