NOW HIRING! We are looking for Peer Mentors for Summer and Fall 2016!
The primary objective of the SPARK peer-mentoring program is
to contribute to the advancement of first-year students by
aiding in their academic, emotional, and social adjustments to college.
Why become a mentor?
Approximately half of the students who enroll in community colleges drop out after the first semester. There are a variety of complex reasons for this but we hope that with some help, new GCC students will not become part of this statistic!
This program hopes to use the energy and wisdom of experienced second/third year students to assist incoming high school students in finding their way at GCC.
Positions are on campus and pay $11 per hour.
A set schedule of activities and program details is available in the Information Packet.
Please download the packet by clicking here: SPARK Mentor Application 2016
Please follow these directions:
1. You can complete the forms in pdf format but you must print and sign them.
2. Drop off completed and signed forms to CSI in Sierra Madre 267.
3. Print the Recommendation Form and give it to a GCC staff, faculty, or administrator to complete. They will forward their recommendation to CSI.
