Join Professors Darren Leaver, Victoria Buresch (Anthropology) and Wayne Henderson (Oceanography) for a 25 day program in Bali. Apply what your are learning in oceanography while you snorkel among the coral reefs and marine life of some of the world’s premier diving locations. Visits to historical sites, traditional ceremonies and villages in addition to performances and a cooking class will bring your cultural anthropology class to life. You will explore the towns of Ubud, Candidasa, and Amed, climb a volcano, explore mangroves and a turtle hatchery, and zipline through the treetops of a forest. Don’t miss out on this adventure of a lifetime!
Approx. $2,150 + Airfare & GCC Fees
Students must enroll in both Anthropology 102 and Oceanography 115 . There will be coursework on the GCC campus between 6/17 and 6/24 with specific dates/times as of yet to be determined.
Included in Itinerary: Accommodations and activities for 25 days/23 nights in 3- to 4-star hotels with swimming pool and air-conditioning, transportation around Bali, 20 breakfasts, 12 additional meals, entry to cultural sites and shows, snorkeling activities, sunrise dolphin sailing, zip-cord adventure, and a downhill bike ride.
Not Included: International airfare (approx. $1400 + taxes), Indonesian visa ($25 on arrival), international departure tax from Bali (about $18), remaining meals, all beverages, entry fees to places not part of the itinerary and tips (approx. $50). Students would need approx. $700 spending money, not counting souvenirs. GCC tuition, fees & books are NOT included in the program price.
Group airfare will be available if more than ten students flying on the same itinerary participate.
Price is based on a minimum of 24 participating students. Current cost is based on the current exchange rate and any significant change in exchange rate may result in a price adjustment.
