New technologies mean new opportunities, and in partnership with the Glendale Community College Foundation we are celebrating our alumni in ways that were not previously possible. E-mail, e-newsletters, websites and social media– you name it and we’re utilizing it to re-connect with former students in meaningful and interactive ways. The Foundation’s goal is to reach 70,000 alumni and invite you to share your success with us!
For a limited time, The Alumni Association is offering free membership and numerous benefits from use of the library and fitness center to a 20 percent discount at the beautiful and historic Pasadena Playhouse.
“Who inspired you?” is the question that we at the Alumni Association would like to ask each alumnus of Glendale Community College. Was it a specific teacher, a class or a program, or was it the campus community that started you off along your life’s path?
Every Glendale alumnus has a different story, whether it was study abroad, the digital arts facilities, a language class, the theater arts program – Glendale has so much to offer its students. As universities become increasingly expensive, community colleges are more important than ever before for starting students down the path to academic success. Tell us your story.
The Foundation’s 85th Anniversary Gala, “The Stars Among Us” will take place on Saturday evening, October 20 and features John and Gael Davitt as honorary co-chairs. Bhupesh and Kumud Parikh will receive the Philanthropist of Distinction Award, Ruth J. Charles will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Sevada Chamras will be named Outstanding Alumnus. This promises to be an outstanding, not to be missed event! For more information and to register for this event, go to the 85th Anniversary website at: www.glendale.edu/85th.
Reconnecting to the campus as an alumnus can be a very gratifying way to give others the opportunity to start their life’s path through Glendale Community College. Donations to the Foundation help fund much-needed classroom upgrades, scholarships for those in need, and other programs to enhance the learning experience for another generation of Glendale’s students. Share your inspiration and “Make a Connection. Make a Difference.”
