Greetings from the International Student Program office at Glendale Community College!
On behalf of the College and the entire campus community we would like to welcome you to
our Web site and the following pages specifically designed for international students. We
trust you will find this information helpful in introducing you to the various academic
programs and student services at Glendale.
Glendale C.C. has a strong tradition and commitment to servicing students from other
countries. Currently, the College enrolls 530 international visa students from 50
countries. The International Student Program office is here to assist you with admission
and enrollment information, immigration advising, new student orientation, academic
advising and class scheduling. The office is also involved in issues related to off-campus
housing, health insurance coverage and student programming activities. International
students at Glendale are an active part of the campus community and are encouraged to
participate in student government, clubs, athletics and other extracurricular
organizations.
Academically, Glendale Community College is a fully accredited two-year college and is
considered one of the more attractive locations within the California system of community
colleges. Students can choose from 75 academic majors and a wide variety of general
education courses. ESL courses are also available as part of the regular course schedule
for students needing additional English language instruction.
Many students who attend Glendale are able to transfer to a four-year university after
the first two years of their undergraduate program. In fact, Glendale has one of the
highest community college transfer rates in California. You will also find lower tuition
rates and smaller class sizes compared to most universities.
Again, welcome to Glendale Community College and our Web site. Please refer to the
specific contact information for International students listed on the following pages to
obtain application forms and brochures. We look forward to hearing from you and servicing
you during the college selection process.
Best wishes.
