What is the GCC marketing bug?

Many GCC items are printed and distributed to potential or current students or the community at large. Materials include postcards, fliers, and programs for cultural and athletic events, invitations to programs and activities sponsored by the college to name a few. These materials provide an opportunity to market the Main Campus, Garfield Campus, and the Professional Development Center.

The marketing bug was designed to provide as an efficient method to promote all aspects of the college.

Guidelines for the GCC marketing bug.

The GCC marketing bug is to be included on:

  • All mass mailings
  • Internal/external fliers
  • Programs for events
  • Paid ads if appropriate and there is space available
  • District stationary
  • Marketing bugs are not appropriate for on-line banner ads (the purpose is to click on ad and go link to website.)
  • Marketing bugs are not appropriate on mini brochures because of space limitations

If applicable a tag line may be added to GCC Marketing Bug.

  1. Tag lines might be statement such as:

    • Register Now

    • Applications currently being accepted

    • Spring semester begins Wed. February 21, 2007
       

  2. The language of the tag lines are at the discretion of the originator of the piece and may relate to the purpose of the piece.
     

  3. Priority statements are a global message about the college such as: beginning of semester or registration in progress or applications now being taken.

Do not copy and paste graphics from the screen, they are low resolution pictures. To download marketing bug, right-click on each  link and save the file on your local drive.

  • TIF format
    For use in office documents created in MS Word and similar programs that will be printed on office printers.

  • EPS format
    For use in marketing materials that require high-resolution reproduction at any size.

Other information

  • Language for the noncredit option is, “free noncredit courses for adults.”

  • Marketing materials funded by categorical/grant programs must include name of funding source when appropriate.
