Articulation is the process of determining whether a course offered at
Glendale Community College is comparable to a corresponding course at a particular
four-year college or university, UC or CSU. Such agreements are necessary since each
university has its own program requirements; these requirements vary with the student's
intended major. An articulation agreement is an agreement with a four-year college or
university that specifies which GCC classes may be transferred to meet general education,
elective requirements or major requirements. These agreements, maintained by the
articulation officer and on file with the Transfer Center and all
academic counselors,
facilitate the successful transfer of students from Glendale to baccalaureate level
colleges and universities.
Students who wish to transfer should become familiar with the articulation
agreements. GCC has established articulation with many four-year universities and colleges
in general education and in specific majors. A student working closely with a counselor
will be able to complete the lower division, or first two years, of a bachelor degree
program at GCC and transfer at the junior level.
