| How to Orient Your Students
to Blackboard
1. Pre-Scheduled Blackboard Student Orientation Sessions
Group Orientation sessions are scheduled for the first 3
weeks of each semester. Please feel free to send your students to these
Orientation Sessions and let us introduce them to BB. The BB Orientation
session takes about 1 hour and serves as an introduction to BB including:
- How to login
- How to change your password
- How to use course tools such as email, chat,
and the discussion boards
- How to turn in assignments online
- How to complete quizzes online
Because students log into the actual BB course they are
registered for, attendance in the orientation session will ensure that
students learn how to login and access your course---which often is one
of the biggest obstacles to success.
We now offer students who attend and successfully complete
the BB Student Orientation Session a CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE. This
certificate can be used as proof of attendance if you decide to require
students to attend one of the orientation sessions, or as offer bonus
points for attendance.
Check theBB
Student Orientation page for times and dates

your class.
