Ways
You Can Be Involved:
1)
Donations:
Donations are the “lifes blood” of
continued operations here at the planetarium. Through your donations we
are able to continue: Our public outreach, developing innovative show
materials, purchase new show materials, and most importantly, to
maintain our aging equipment.
2)
Take an Astronomy Class:
While GCC has many
courses in astronomy, the courses regularly scheduled in room CS-257
(the planetarium) use the dome most often for instructional purposes.
3)
Schedule a School or Scouts Show:

4)
Sign up for Internship 150:
Internship 150 is for the advanced student
looking to broaden their education in a particular field of study.
Currently, the planetarium is working with Physics, Astronomy,
Chemistry, and Photography to allow Internship 150 projects to be
generated for the domed environment. Note: Internship 150 candidates must be accepted by an
instructor from the desired field of investigation (eg: Physics), by the
planetarium administrator, and the Student Employment office.
5)
Volunteer:
Due to
our limited production space, computers, and qualified staff, volunteering
is reserved for former students or in rare cases, for those displaying exceptional talent
sets (animation, programming, graphic arts, etc.) but who are unable to
enroll in classes at GCC. If you feel you fall into one of these
groups, please contact us to see how we can get you on board.
