Administrative Regulation Use of College Facilities College
facilities are made available to the community in accordance with Board Policy
1410. Application
Requirements A. Any group or organization wishing to use facilities of the
Glendale Community College District should telephone the Administrative
Services Office, (818) 240‑1000, Ext. 5109, or apply at Glendale
Community College District, 1500 North
Verdugo Road, Administration Building Room 114, Glendale, California 91208. B. All applications shall originate with established and
responsible organizations of good reputation. C. Any first-time request for the use of a college facility by
an organization or group shall be presented in writing on the organization’s
letterhead and signed by the President or Secretary and an individual assuming
responsibility for use of the facility. D. All groups qualifying for use must adhere to the rules and
regulations set forth by the Board of Trustees.
Negligence will result in the groups being held accountable for damages
and withdrawal of consideration upon subsequent request. Specific restrictions are contained in the
laws of E. The Administrative Clerk will clear calendars, check the
application form, and assist in detailed arrangements. Applicants will be responsible for all costs
unless cancellation is received at least 48 hours in advance. F. Applications for use of college facilities should be filed
at least four weeks in advance of the time the use of the premises is
desired. Unless unusual scheduling
problems are involved, the college will not schedule use of facilities for more
than three months in advance, and applications shall not be accepted more than
six months in advance of use. Permits
shall not be issued for a period exceeding one fiscal year. G. Organizations wishing to use facilities during the summer
months may make application at any time during the year, but these applications
will not be processed before April 1 of each year. H. Organizations requesting permits for use of auditoriums
and/or athletic facilities must provide evidence of liability insurance
covering their activities while using school facilities. The District should be
named as additional insured. Liability insurance must be for a minimum of
$1,000,000. AEvent@ insurance may be
purchased through the College District’s insurance company at an additional
cost to Permittee. I. If, after a permit has been obtained, the meeting or
activity is canceled, the Administrative Clerk is to be notified. J. The
following Hold Harmless Agreement shall be completed prior to use of

19 In connection with the granted use of your facilities
and premises at for a on as requested on Property Use Permit form dated

hereinafter referred to as the Permittee, do agree to indemnify and save
harmless the Glendale Community College District, hereinafter referred to as
the District, its officers, agents and employees, from any and all claims or
demands growing out of injuries to persons, including death, or damage to
property sustained by any person or persons, firm or firms, corporation or
corporations, including the District, arising from the conduct of or management
about the demised premises, or from any occurrence in or on the demised
premises, and will further indemnify and
save the District harmless against and from any and all claims arising from any
breach or default on the part of the Permittee in the performance pursuant to
the terms of this use, or arising from any act or negligence of the Permittee,
or any of its agents, contractors, servants, employees, licensees, customers or
invitees and from and against all costs, counsel fees, expenses and liabilities
incurred in or about any such claim or action proceeding brought thereon; and
in case any action or proceeding be brought against the District by reason of
any such claim, the Permittee, upon notice from the District, covenants to
resist or defend at Permittee’s expense
such action or proceeding by counsel reasonably satisfactory to the District. The Permittee further agrees to retain responsibility
for any loss, theft or damage to Permittee’s equipment, supplies or
materials. In addition, Permittee agrees
to retain responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to equipment, supplies
or materials of others brought onto or stored on District’s premises in
connection with Permittee’s use of Districts facilities and premises. The Permittee further agrees and promises that he
will not use nor permit any other person, firm or corporation to use pictures
or films of the premises and/or facilities of the Glendale Community College
District in any movie film, film production or commercial venture, the subject
matter of which does or might bring discredit to Glendale College, including
any film production which contains immoral, obnoxious, obscene, or injurious
material or is subversive in any way. The Permittee further agrees to surrender the
premises and facilities to the District at the termination of the use period
hereinbefore specified in the same condition as at the commencement of the
period. All equipment, supplies and
materials of any kind, used by the Permittee, shall be removed from the premises
at termination of the use period. The
Permittee shall be responsible for any damage to District property and shall
promptly reimburse the District for repair or replacement as billed. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Permittee has

Insurance Requirement Organizations requesting permits for use of any
campus facility must provide evidence of liability insurance covering their
activities while using college facilities. The District shall be named as
additional insured on a Certificate of Insurance provided to the College
District, one week prior to the event, by a licensed insurance carrier. Liability coverage on that policy shall not
be less than $1,000,000. To meet this
insurance requirement, the Permittee may purchase AEvent@ insurance through the
College District’s insurance company (see District Representative for details
