Online Math 141
Spring 2003
Mathematics 141 is a course in the fundamental operations of algebra. The course focuses on solutions of linear and quadratic equations, algebraic operations, factoring algebraic fractions, exponents and radicals, and systems of linear equations. This course is the equivalent of one year of algebra in high school.
For the online Math 141 class, there are 7 required class meetings:
Friday, Feb. 21, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Class Orientation, SG 379
Thursday, Mar. 13, 5:15 - 6:15 p.m., Test 1

Students must attend a WebCT workshop prior to the class orientation and bring the certificate of completion to the orientation. Students may attend the WebCT workshop on Friday, Feb 21, 4-5 p.m., SG 379, or any other WebCT workshop scheduled earlier in the week. See www.glendale.edu/new/offerings/online.htm for additional workshop time.
Other than the above class meetings, students are not required to be on campus. Students will access the textbook and instruction online. Students will work exercises and take quizzes online to prepare for each module test. The instructor will be available during traditional office hours via the phone or in person, and will also have special online office hours. The instructor will communicate via email and WebCT announcements with the students. Details of the course and WebCT access will be discussed in the WebCT workshop and class orientation.
This is NOT a self-paced course. The instructor will make weekly assignments
and quizzes which the students will be responsible for completing. Those
students interested in taking Math 141 online should schedule at
least 10-12 hours a week for this class.
