Facilitates a variety of child
development courses, often directed toward a goal of : “Teacher
Preparation”. All child development courses are taught at
Glendale College’s Child Development Center/Laboratory School.
Students progress along a career path as defined by California’s
Child Development Permit. Options include teaching levels of
advancing responsibilities, along with children’s age variables:
infant/toddler; pre-school; and school-aged children in elementary
school child care programs. Courses are often characterized as
theory based, and/or practical application. Many courses
require volunteer hours at the center’s Laboratory School in order
to provide “hands on” experiences and professional development.
