INSTALLATION FROM CITRIX WEB CLIENT and CITRIX FILE DOWNLOAD INFORMATION
NOTE: The following instructions are known to work for the SAFARI web browser only, Microsoft Internet Explorer, as used on OS X will not download properly, in addition, Microsoft no longer supports the browser for Macs. Other browsers may work, but they have not been tested by us.

On your Internet browser go to http://citrix.glendale.edu
If your computer has not already logged on to CITRIX, you will get the window below:

The Safari Download Manager will download the file to the default location, if you can't find the file, look in the Safari preferences to see where the file is being downloaded. The file will most likely be decompressed and mounted on your desktop as a Citrix ICA Client file.

Open the Citrix ICA Client file and either copy and paste, or drag the Citrix ICA Client folder to the Applications folder on your system.
Next, open the Citrix Client Editor and create a Citrix connection file. The following images are setup for an external computer off campus:
Network Connection:
Enter the IP address shown.
204.102.211.123 (Home configuration).
See Lab staff about the server IP for Campus configurations.
Network Protocol: TCP/IP.
Server Location:
Use the default setting (Campus configuration).
You may have to enter a server name (Home configuration). If you do not know the name, check with the GCCL Lab staff for the name.
Security Tab:
Uncheck the Encryption/Use Default checkbox.
Set the Encryption Level to: 128 bit for Login Only
Uncheck the Proxy/Use Default checkbox.
Then click the <Firewall Settings...> button, and go to the next image.

Security Tab / Firewall Settings button:
Check Use alternate address for firewall connection (Home use).

Connection Properties:
Uncheck Enable Sound

Window Tab:
Choose the screen setting you want by clicking on the <Full Screen> list. It is recommended that you keep it just slightly under your actual screen size in order to have access to your desktop, if needed.
Set the Windows Colors to: Millions

Application Tab: Leave default settings
When you are finished click the <Connect> button to verify the information will allow you to logon to the Citrix Server, if you can, then click the <Save> button and give the file a name such as, Citrix Logon, although any name that you choose will do. Copy this file to your desktop for ease of use when accessing Citrix.

Login to Citrix Web Client from the Student Labs web page, or directly from: http://citrix.glendale.edu
Enter the logon information (username, password) and click the <LOG IN> button to bring up the Citrix Applications window.
In the Citrix Application window, click an application icon that will cause the downloading of the "launch.asp" file. Minimize the browser window.
On the desktop, <Control + Click> on the "launch.asp" file to bring up the context menu.
In the menu, go to "Open with..." and then choose "Other...".
Find the Citrix ICA Client file in your Citrix ICA Client folder and choose it.
After it is saved, maximize the Citrix Desktop and try opening an application from the list.
If it opens, and your desktop appears, your efforts have succeeded, but,

DOWNLOADING THE MACINTOSH CITRIX CLIENT [back to top]
Go to the Student Labs web page, and choose the link that is appropriate for your operating system or computer.
OS X Download: This link will take you to the Citrix web site download page for Macintosh. When you are in the page, choose the Get Software link that is to the right of the appropriate software version (as of August 01, 2007) Version 7.00.411 - PowerPC, or Version 7.10.500 - Intel .
Follow the on screen instructions and download.
The file will decompress and mount on your desktop in the same manner as the Web download.
Follow the instructions in Creating a Citrix ICA connection file and test the connection.
Other OS: Download and follow the instructions on screen.
If everything works, you are now able to connect to the Citrix server and use the applications listed for your account.
