INSTRUMENT FLIGHT LAB

Aviation and Transportation 114 is a flight training laboratory course instructing students to operate an airplane by reference to instruments. Topics include: basic and advanced attitude instrument flying, recovery from unusual attitudes, holding patterns, IFR en-route procedures, IFR cross-country planning, departure and arrival procedures, and precision and nonprecision approach procedures. Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 6 hours.

 

Prerequisites: Aviation and Transportation 113 or possession of a FAA Private Pilot Certificate (Single Engine Land) and; Aviation and Transportation 125 or proof of satisfactory completion of FAA Instrument Rating Knowledge Examination (AT 125 may be taken concurrently).
