AVIATION PSYCHOLOGY

Aviation and Transportation 136 acquaints the professional pilot and flight attendant with an overview of aviation psychology. The influence of psychological factors on aviation safety, and the aviation professional’s personal and occupational life is examined. Topics include human factors, human error, motivation and leadership, aviation stress management, group dynamics, attitudes and persuasion, assertiveness training, aircraft accident analysis, passenger psychology, career development, training, flight physiology, self-assessment, family and relationship issues, communications, ethics in professional aviation, and applications in space technology. Lecture 3 hours.
