TECHNOLOGY IV

Machine Technology 104 is a continuation of advanced and complicated
operations of machine tools and equipment. Lectures and demonstrations include
a thorough investigation of heat-treatment of metals, special metals and their
uses, abrasives, grinding wheels, and efficient use of surface, cylindrical,
and tool cutter grinders. Basic tool and die work in which the student designs
and builds jigs and fixtures is offered to students showing advanced capabilities.
Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 6 hours.
Prerequisite: Machine Technology 103.
Note: Students must register for the full number of
hours for which the course is scheduled, but late registration is permitted
provided a vacancy in the class exists.
