Electronics and Computer Technology 117 is the fourth of four classes preparing students with the skills they need to design, build, and maintain small to medium size networks. Students perform a series of practical labs to include emulating frame relay, configuring and writing access list, and custom configuring of a Cisco router. Student responsibility includes completion of a threaded case study, complete design of a local and wide area network of a typical school district to include information developed in the current as well as previous classes. Lecture 4.5 hours, laboratory 4.5 hours (eight weeks).

 

Prerequisite: Electronics and Computer Technology 116.
