GLENDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
BUSINESS ECONOMICS

The economics undergraduate program is designed for students who wish to gain a thorough understanding of both empirical and theoretical approaches to economics. Emphasis is on economic principles applied to resolving interpersonal conflicts of interest and coordinating productive activity in a world of scarce resources. Business Economics is a major for students seeking a business orientation in their study of economics. It offers a tightly focused curriculum that is guided by the rigorous logic and integrative perspective of economics. The Business Economics major does not replicated the traditional undergraduate business school curriculum. In the last two years, most courses are in statistical analysis, finance, management and business. Below are some examples of the lower division courses required for the major.

UC Los Angeles

This major is highly selective; all preparatory courses should be completed by the spring prior to transferring. The calculus course requirements should be met as early as possible. After transfer to UCLA, students may not change their major to Business Economics if they were originally admitted to a major outside the Department of Economics.

NOTE : The Business Economics major does not replicate the traditional undergraduate business school curriculum.
