Transfer Center Bulletin: February 2019
Tips of the Month
It’s almost here…the first week of the spring 2019 semester begins on February 19th!
Urgent: If you applied to the CSUs for fall 2019 and indicated you will have an Associate Degree’s for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T) please see a counselor as soon as possible to complete a graduation petition. If you want to learn more about our Associate Degree’s for Transfer speak to a counselor.
Students who have already applied for fall 2019:
If you have already applied to transfer to a UC or CSU for fall 2019 remember that you must complete two college level English classes, one transferable Math, and 60 transferable units by the end of the spring semester. It is VERY important that you have at least 60 transferable units so please make certain that you will by the end of spring. For those of you who have also applied to a CSU, you must also successfully complete Speech 101 by the end of spring.
Do not send your transcripts to the UCs yet unless specifically requested by a campus prior to the admission decision. Final official transcripts must be submitted in July after you accept an admission offer to the one UC you plan to enroll in. The CSUs have their own process with requesting transcripts. Please check your email and student portal frequently as each CSU will have their own transcript deadline and possible supplemental application.
Reminder! You can now apply for Financial Aid. Please consider filling out the FAFSA even if you do not think you may qualify for financial aid. The filing period for FAFSA, California Dream ACT and Cal Grant ends March 2nd. If you are applying to USC or other private colleges you also need to complete the CSS profile on the collegeboard.org website to complete the financial aid process.
