David Yamamoto LA Horizons

The Art Gallery @ GCC is pleased to present David Alan Yamamoto: LA Horizons, a photographic survey documenting the changing landscape of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles basin is known for its vast urban sprawl with residential and workplace districts connected by freeways and thoroughfares. Major developments throughout the basin are reconfiguring how residents live and work, creating residential density within proximity of commercial districts and multi-modal transportation hubs.

In this series, Yamamoto continues his photographic practice, photographing the dynamic LA landscape. As a Los Angeles native, the transformation of once-familiar places is profound. The images document the increasing density and changing physical environment, which is redefining living and working in the Los Angeles area.  The exhibition was enabled through a sabbatical award from Glendale Community College.

LA Horizons will be on view at The Art Gallery @ GCC from November 4 to November 26. Join us for a reception for the artist on Thursday, November 14th from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

The Art Gallery @ GCC is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m.
