Transfer Center Bulletin: December 2019
Tips of the Month
USC - The deadline to apply to USC for most majors is February 1st. You can apply using the common application (www.commonapp.org). Your official college and high school transcripts also need to be submitted around this deadline.
- Congratulations to those of you who applied to UC’s and CSU’s! You are now one step closer to transferring to your dream schools! Please check your email and CSU portal frequently for transcript requests from the CSUs. Also, the UCs may be emailing you for additional information.
- APPLICATION EXTENDED-UC MERCED, UC RIVERSIDE, and UC SANTA CRUZ will continue to accept transfer applications through January 3rd.
- Did you miss the deadline? If so, there are plenty of private and out of state universities that are accepting applications. Many of their deadlines are not until early 2020. Spend some time researching schools you may be interested in and visit the Transfer Center to get assistance with the application and help identifying admissions requirements.
- Application Updates- Update your UC and CSU application to include fall grades and winter/spring schedule which is due January 31st. Complete the UC Berkeley supplemental application if you applied to Berkeley. Complete the CSU supplemental application for those schools that require it.
Financial Aid - You can now apply! Please consider filling out the FAFSA even if you do not think you may qualify for financial aid. The priority filing period for FAFSA, California Dream ACT and Cal Grant ends March 2nd. If you are applying to USC or other private colleges you also need to complete the CSS profile on the collegeboard.org website to complete the financial aid process.
