Transfer Center Bulletin: March 2020

March 2020

Tips of the Month:

If you applied to the CSUs for Fall 2020 admission and indicated that you will have earned an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T), please see a counselor by March 12th to complete a graduation petition. Petitioning by this deadline will allow GCC to electronically verify your ADT for the CSUs.

If you want to learn more about our Associate Degrees for Transfer, please speak with a counselor. Glendale College has several AA-T and AS-T degrees that you may be eligible for yet not even know it.

Students who have already applied for Fall 2020:

Please check your email frequently as many campuses may be requesting information. Although the January 31st deadline to submit the Transfer Academic Update for the UCs and CSUs has now passed, additional updates of your spring 2020 schedule and winter grades should be submitted on the UC Transfer Academic Update portion of the UC application and notify each school individually.

Should I take a class as Pass/No Pass?
Taking a class on a Pass/No Pass basis can be an effective strategy for safeguarding your GPA because a “P” or “NP” is not used in your GPA calculations (some exceptions apply). Therefore, it has no negative or positive effect on your GPA. Choosing this grading option can be helpful in maintaining your current GPA. Courses required for major preparation should be taken for a letter grade. Check with a counselor on the appropriateness of Pass/No Pass for your situation. Remember March 13th is the deadline to apply for Pass/No Pass for traditional 16-week classes!

Want to see a counselor but can’t come in person?
GCC offers online counseling services! Online Counseling is a web-based service which allows students to connect with an academic counselor online and complete many of the services available during an in-person drop-in or appointment session. For more information please
