Students who have not yet applied for transfer:
Getting ready to transfer in the near future? Great! There are many steps you can take within the next few months to help with the transfer process.
1)Good grades-Attempt to earn the highest grades possible. Consider utilizing the free online tutoring services here at GCC to make sure you are grasping the material and are getting assistance if needed. Also, check with your instructor to assess your progress in the course.
2)Summer school-Consider taking summer school classes. Summer school is a great way to get ahead with your general education and major courses. You can now begin registering for summer 2020.
3)Fall courses-You can NOW check your registration date for the fall semester. Please login to your MYGCC account for your registration date and time. Meet with a counselor online to discuss appropriate courses for your transfer goal.
3)Volunteer and internships- Although your GPA is very important, many universities do a holistic review when evaluating applications. Participating in volunteer work and internships can not only provide you with an enriching experience in a field you are interested in, but can also make you a more competitive applicant for transfer. You may want to consider spending time this summer in such activities. Please visit our Career Center website for links to internships and volunteer opportunities.
