My name is Arpi Amirian. I am a proud Glendale Community College (GCC) alumna, where I learned English, earned my A.S. degree in Computer Information Systems, and a Certificate in Computer Support Technician. Moreover, I earned my B.S. in Business Marketing from California State University, Northridge and my M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University.

Back home, I was a preschool teacher, and loved to educate and mentor the youth. When I immigrated to the United States and started attending GCC, my aim was to fulfil the American Dream. My focus was to learn the language, adapt to the new culture, and get a certificate to get into the workforce. However, after many years of working in different fields, I decided to continue with my higher education and pursue a career in an educational field. I realized that my passion and purpose is sharing my knowledge with others, empowering learners to follow their dreams and goals, and helping my community to aim towards education and self-growth.

By being a living example of an immigrant/single parent success story, I have been part of the Glendale Community College family and have given back to the community where I first received my educational support and guidance!
