Jonathan Acuna is a part-time Astronomy instructor and space travel enthusiast. He earned a M.S. in Physics from CSU-Northridge analyzing data and researching debris disks in collaboration with faculty and JPL scientists. His undergraduate degree was in astrophysics. Currently he is pursuing a degree in Aerospace engineering.

Prior to academia he served 4 years in the Marine Corps, where he developed an exacting standard of human potential and collaboration. His ultimate goal is to one day join NASA’s astronaut corps, furthering humanity’s imagination and reach through science and exploration. 

In the mean time he can be found exploring environments simulating foreign planets such as scuba diving, rock climbing and backpacking.
