Sociology Hybrid Instructor
Hello and welcome to Sociology 101 – Hybrid Edition!
- “Hybrid” means that this course will include face to face as well as virtual interaction. This means that:
- We will have FOUR *mandatory* face to face on-campus class meetings. (You cannot be enrolled in this class if you cannot attend these mandatory on-campus meetings.)
- This course requires Synchronous as well as Asynchronous methods of instruction. “Synchronous” means we will meet online in “real time.” Our “real time” sessions will take place on Skype Chat. I will provide an option of time slots that you may choose from. (The rest will be conducted on Canvas.)
- We will have FOUR *mandatory* face to face on-campus class meetings. (You cannot be enrolled in this class if you cannot attend these mandatory on-campus meetings.)
- Similar to a traditional face-to-face class, a hybrid class will also include the usual weekly readings, lessons and quizzes to complete in Canvas, projects, and exams. The main difference with a hybrid course is that we meet on campus less often and "telecommute" more.
- Please note that this course is only 8 weeks long – so you can expect it to be quite fast paced!
