THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ONCE ENROLLED

Read the Welcome Letter

The Welcome Letter is available 2 days before our first class meeting and will have our live online meeting times listed as well as the course requirements. Check your GCC email account for its arrival.

This class uses Synchronous and Asynchronous methods of teaching

Synchronous means "real time" online class sessions. Students get to choose one out of three possible time slots each week for Canvas Chat. Attendance is accounted for and participation is mandatory.

Asynchronous means that you can review the lessons and do the activities on your own time. You can choose to do the lessons and assignments any time before the weekly deadline.

Be prepared to think critically and have fun in our community of learning

This class covers humans and their place in the natural world. We look at evidence and draw conclusions based on what can be measured, seen, handled, and analyzed. This class will exercise that important skill of being able to understand concepts and then conveying them in oral and written communication in a manner so that others can also understand them. Both the skills acquired and the content studied in this course will relate to each one of you in your academic pursuits, personal life, and/or professional aspirations.
