An 8 week online course takes a traditional 16 week course and compresses it into 8 weeks. Weekly online instructional activities consist of 6 hours worth of classwork. Classwork includes weekly video messages, online lectures, discussions, unit activities and preparing for assessments and unit assessments via Canvas. However reading material, studying and constructing unit assessment should be factored into your schedule. Therefore, 6-8 hours per week shall be carved out in your life routine.
Because Ethnic Studies is a current and enlightening discipline, the online nature of the course will make the experience relevant. Every week, new stories, reports and incidents will connect to our subject. In addition, audio and visual resources will add value to our leaning experience.
I believe in working with students toward a successful outcome for all students. As a first generation college student, I understand how balancing work, family and school can deplete our energy. Yet using technology can enable us to stay focussed on work, family and school. My goal is to eliminate failure in my courses. Therefore I dedicate most of my time nudging students via Canvas to stay on task.
