The Broad’s Diversity Apprenticeship Program (DAP)
The DAP offers a nine-month, paid, full-time apprenticeship in art handling and preparations work. We are especially interested in offering this opportunity to individuals from communities underrepresented on museum staffs. Like last year, eight apprentices will be hired to start in June. The Broad provides all training (paid), tools, and placements. No previous experience or specific educational level is required.
Candidates are sought from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the visual arts.
Aiming to encourage greater diversity in the professions related to museums and the visual arts, the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship program supports substantive, full-time summer work opportunities for college undergraduates from cultural backgrounds that have traditionally been underrepresented in the arts. Students gain experience in key areas such as curatorship, conservation, education, publications, and related programmatic activities.
