About Future of Dance

The Future of Dance is a unique experience for artists 12-18 years of age. The Future of Dance is open to Middle Schools, High Schools and independent studios. The students involved in the festival will have the opportunity to take master classes with Glendale College Faculty. A $200 GCC tuition scholarship will be available to a high school senior demonstrating promise and commitment in Dance. This festival is the pinnacle of the hard work and dedication these young artists have accomplished by balancing academia with their passion for Dance throughout the school year. The entire festival is admission free.


Space for master classes, workshops and discipline submissions is limited. Please submit the entry and submission forms at your earliest opportunity. 

Choreographers and Dancers are invited to submit works for adjudication, and participation in the Encore Presentation.  Advisors are encouraged to select works that best represent the talent, passion and creativity of their students.  A jury comprised of professionals will adjudicate each submission.  At the conclusion of adjudications, all participants and advisors will be introduced. The overall score for each individual submission will be assessed. Certificates and adjudication notes will be distributed at this time. Please be present for this ceremony as all participants within each discipline are recognized. The 3 highest rated entries will be invited to perform in the Encore Presentation.  

The Adjudication & Encore Presentation will take place in the Dance Theater, Sierra Nevada building. Family, friends and peers are encouraged to attend. Admission to is free.
