The Garfield campus offers counseling for students with disabilities. You can meet with a DSPS Counselor throughout the semester and they can assist you with working towards your educational goals.
Additionally, the DSPS Counselor can assist with:
- Finding community resources for various disabilities, for example:
- Getting reasonable accommodations in your classes, for example:
- Note-taking services
- Special Equipment
- Longer time on tests
- Getting a Learning Disability Assessment
- Academic and Career Counseling
Students interested in scheduling an appointment with the DSPS Counselor can go to the Career & Counseling Center (Mariposa Building, Room 221) and ask for an appointment. You can also call 818-240-1000 ext. 5055 or 5035 to schedule.
If you are a staff or faculty member and have questions about how to refer a student to DSPS, you can speak with the DSPS Counselor who will guide you with this process.
