System Maintenance Notice

The PeopleSoft student system (this includes MyGCC and schedule of classes) will be unavailable for 2 DAYS starting Friday, June 28 from 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 30 at 5 p.m. due to scheduled system maintenance.

New or Returning Students

Becoming a GCC student is easy!

New Student:

You never attended Glendale Community College

Returning Student:

You are a returning student if you have not applied or enrolled during spring 2019

Application Process
Before applying, please have the following items available:
  • Social Security Number
  • USCIS information (if born outside US)
    • Residency will be determined according to your answers to certain questions, please answer all questions to the best of your ability. If necessary, the Admissions and Records office will ask you to provide evidence of your USCIS documentation and/or your physical presence in California.
      For more information on Residency click here, Residency Requirements  Residency must be cleared PRIOR TO THE START OF THE TERM.
Step 1. Submit a GCC Application
  • Answer all questions completely.
  • Verify all information you have entered.
  • Click on the Begin Application for Glendale Community College.
  • Create a NEW User Account if you are applying online for the first time or Log in as a Returning User if you have previously applied online.
  • Complete and submit application be sure to click the Finish link.


Check your personal e-mail account for an email from OpenCCCApply.

Once your application is submitted, it will be processed within 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays

Step 2. Complete Assessment

Go to Assessment Center (Sierra Vista, Room 365) where you will be assigned a counselor and complete an Assessment Self-Referral Form. You will usually be able to take the English and math computerized assessment immediately. ESL placement requires an appointment. (818) 240-1000 ext. 5329
